My Story

Ever since I could remember, I have had a passion for all things design. As a young girl visiting my grandmother, I always envisioned how I could transform her modest home into a design masterpiece. I imagined bumping out the kitchen, so she had more room to bake her infamous gingerbread cookies. I combined the first floor bedroom and living room to create a great room so our entire family could fit in one space. The house doubled in size before it was time for me to pack up my things and go home.

As I grew into my teen years, I recall sleepovers with my girlfriends. While they would be reading Teen Magazine, I opted to skim through Architectural Digest and House Beautiful. Colors and fabrics entertained my adolescent mind more than any teen heartthob, and my love for design has only grown stronger as I have reached adulthood.

It has never been a mystery where my enthusiasm for design originated. I credit my mother for educating me in the world of "all things pretty". My mom never missed an opportunity to teach me how to pick out little treasures from a selection of ordinary objects, or how to scale furniture for a specific room. I recall many late evenings rearranging the furniture in our home, because a certain layout did not satisfy my mom's design eye. Her discontent was not so appreciated at the time, however I am so grateful to have those memories. They have helped to shape who I am today.

My design philsophy is based on forward thinking, blending practical living with aesthetic beauty. I believe it is possible to create a stunning and sophisticated space without spending all your savings. I have been able to accomplish this in my own home, and would like to extend a helping hand to you.

With Love For All Things Design,
Hillary
